Packaging and Artwork Lifecycle Management
From Content to Carton on the shelf, ManageArtworks makes every step of the way easy and efficient. Teams that use ManageArtworks are more productive and better organized. This means faster workflows and less iterations

Content
Organize your content in one place and re-use when needed
Whether you call it a spec, datasheet or copy, start organizing all the text that goes on the artwork in one single place. PLM and PIM systems capture all the product data, but that’s not all that goes on the artwork.
ManageArtworks Copy Manager is the one place to edit and approve all text that go on an artwork. All text and their translations are version controlled so that everyone knows what’s the latest approved copy. Reuse content across product variants and pack sizes. Search content using any combination of text and compare content across components

How it’s better: No more juggling with Word or PDF files for content. Consistent text and translations across products. Approved copy means less artwork changes. Instantly know if the same text is on the artwork by using the Artwork compare feature.

Design
No more cut-and-paste for artwork designers
If you are still sharing artwork content to your designers through Email, Word, Excel or PDF, it’s time to change.
ManageArtworks Adobe Illustrator Plugin automatically pulls all the text from the ManageArtworks Copy Manager right into the Adobe Illustrator application. Now all the artwork text and its translations can be drag-and-dropped on the artwork instead of cut-and-paste from documents
How it’s better: Creating artworks quickly without losing time or without introducing any errors is an important part of the designer’s job. The ManageArtworks Ai plugin along with the ManageArtworks Copy Manager achieves these objectives. No more missed text, text from a wrong file or text from a wrong version of the file, all of which lead to rejection in artwork review.

Review
Inside each Artwork Project, all the tools required to get work done
ManageArtworks Artwork Review is driven by a workflow configured to match your organization’s process. The artwork project typically starts with someone like the Marketing person filling in project details (with some data like Product codes coming from an ERP system through Integrations) and adding one or more components. Data and files like artwork copy (available in the Copy Manager), dieline (available in the Dieline Library), brief and other reference documents are attached.
The designer uses these inputs (available through the Ai Plugin) and creates the artwork. The artwork PDF is uploaded to the workflow and moves to the department reviewers.
Each department user has their own Checklist online next to the artwork they are reviewing. At any time, using the Annotation Tools, the user can place sticky notes or put comments on text or images.
Add to this a suite of Proofing tools like
- Color separation (process and pantone colors),
- Layer separation,
- Font extraction (identify font size and font name of each text),
- Barcode validation (EAN, UPC, Pharmacode, QR code and 28 others)
- Braille recognition
- Spell check

Once the artwork is approved, send it online to one or more print vendors along with the Print Specifications for the artworks. Vendors can download the artwork and spec and also login to the same system to upload print proofs for approval. Proofs go through a similar workflow with tracking, version control and proofing tools.
How it’s better: Gets everyone on the same page. Keeps your artwork projects on track with a real-time color coded status tracker. More collaboration with internal department users and external agencies and print vendors. Achieves faster time to the market with fewer iterations and errors.

Maintain consistency in product data and images on the digital store and physical store
Consumers search for products using keywords that appear on the packaging label. So its important to get all the text on the pack correctly printed and make sure the same text appears on eCommerce store fronts.
Managing the artwork content right from the beginning makes this task easy to accomplish for the ManageArtworks eCommerce module.

All packaging artworks, Product pack shots and 3D renderings are stored and managed in ManageArtworks Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. The meta-data of each image is consistent with the meta-data of the packaging artwork because the source for both are the same. Additional meta-data and keywords can be added to the system.
Permanent links to these images and export of data in GDSN or other formats make it easy to exchange this information with online retailers and eCommerce portals. With version control, every time the images are updated in the ManageArtworks system, it is guaranteed to automatically update the digital stores.

In the meanwhile, print vendors are printing the artworks and checking the colors to make sure they are correct. Using an integrated Color Management tool, ManageArtworks is able to provide visibility to the brand on the print status and the color quality.
When the artworks arrive at the manufacturing plant, ManageArtworks Print Inspection tool can be used to compare the text on a scanned artwork sample against the text on the corresponding approved artwork file.
How it’s better: One of the main reasons for online product returns is that the item didn’t match the description. Getting the content right on the pack and on the digital storefront and keeping it consistently updated makes a big difference on sales and returns. Checking color and text on the printed artwork requires specialized tools which ManageArtworks can offer.
