Overview:

Digital Asset Management (DAM) refers to the organized storage and management of final approved creative and packaging assets. This includes housing brand logos, symbols, icons, and even dielines necessary for packaging design.

Do any of these sound like your team's current struggles?

Scattered assets - Your assets are spread across various locations, making it difficult to find and use. This leads to wasted time and effort searching for the right files.

Version control issues - Multiple versions of final assets exist, causing confusion and potentially leading to outdated or incorrect versions being used. This can damage brand consistency and promotional efforts.

Centralized storage needed: Lack of a single, secure and centralized storage system for files makes it challenging for colleagues to find necessary assets independently and collaborate effectively.

Email overload: Using email to store large files results in cluttered inboxes and potentially important emails being deleted. This hinders communication and information access.

If these issues resonate with you, it might be time to consider implementing a DAM system.

Productivity-wise a DAM helps you:

• Eliminate chaos: Say goodbye to the chaos stemming from scattered files across various platforms and locations.

• Empower accessibility: Enable users to swiftly locate required files, eliminating the time wasted on hunting down resources for their tasks.

• Eliminate Silos:  Break the barriers within organization that impedes progress, drains resources, and hinders goal achievement.

• Strengthen Relationships: Encourage teams to maximize knowledge exchange and collaboration, paving a way for better internal discussion.

• Eliminate low-value tasks: Reclaim 20% to 40% of creative time spent on accessing assets, enabling projects to launch faster.

- Prevent Asset Recreation: Avoid the need to recreate lost or misplaced valuable assets like images, saving time and resources.

- Freeing up server space by eliminating unnecessary or duplicate large-sized files.

- Ensuring consistency by accessing the latest versions of files, preventing potential fines due to outdated information.

These are the core benefits that most DAM systems aim to deliver.

We deliver all this and more.

Central Repository

One place to go and look for assets of all types. No more searching on file servers and desktops. Centrally available for everyone at any time.

Metadata and Search

Digital files and packaging assets are tagged with metadata which can be used to search and retrieve files. Assets can be searched easily with a combination of metadata, and you can keep filtering until you find the required files.

Version control

Each asset has a version linked to it and when updated, the version number is incremented. In some cases, the older version may get superseded. Expired assets can be obsoleted so that they are not reused or shared.

Sharing of assets

A digital asset library enables controlled sharing of dielines, logos, artworks, and images with relevant teams, ensuring secure access and streamlined collaboration across the packaging supply chain and marketing teams, both internally and externally.

Support for all formats and file types

The asset library can manage files of any format which can be secured, version controlled and shared. These could include images, PDFs, MS Office files, CAD drawings, video and audio file formats, etc.

Security

All assets are secured with a powerful set of role-based access control. So it’s easy to provide access to required users while making sure other assets are not visible. Permissions are also set on each action that can be taken by a user on an asset, e.g. who can update, share, download, etc.

Audit logs

The asset library maintains an audit log of who created, updated, viewed, downloaded, and shared each asset. All actions are recorded with timestamps for audit purposes.

Repurpose assets

Users can convert an asset into another format (eg. Photoshop to PNG) and resize them if required before its downloaded. This gives greater flexibility for users to reuse and repurpose the assets for their specific use cases.

Bulk upload

Digital assets can be bulk uploaded along with their metadata so that users can reuse them immediately. This capability enables first time users to import and quickly centralize all their assets from other repositories.

Workflow

Assets can be sent through an approval workflow for changes or update. Pre-defined workflows route the asset to the designer and the approvers before the final approved version is updated back into the asset library as a new version.  All workflows include real-time status tracking, email alerts and reminders.
