It’s the first time I am attending this expo and it was a huge “sugar rush”. It was like an adult “Trick or Treat” show with people filling their bags with candy samples from each booth. If they did a before and after blood sugar test, most readings would be off the charts. It was a riot of color with over 800 exhibitors from small to very large manufacturers. The winner of the best in show award for innovation was the Trolli Sour Crunchy Crawlers by Ferrara Candy Co. While the products ranged from the “anything dipped in chocolate” to “it must be healthy if its got fruit”, Hotlix was the coolest (weirdly?). They had flavors like Bacon & Cheese, Salt N’ Vinegar and Sour Cream & Onion. If you are thinking potato chips, you are wrong. These are a line of crispy cricket snacks seasoned and packaged in bite-size pouches. Their candy worms are so weird that will make great gifts. From a labeling point of view, the opportunity to interact with so many companies and understand how they manage their labeling content and design was exciting. Happy to see our customer Hostess Brand exhibit their products at the show. We look forward to interacting with some of the companies and helping them in their labeling journey.
